Social and Competitive Mens Football is available at Coastal Spirit, we can find a team for any player

Coastal Spirit Football Club have the following Men’s teams:

2025 SEASON -

  • Southern League (First team)

  • Championship (Reserves)

  • Under 20’s (Division 5)

  • CSFC Royals (Division 5)

  • CSFC Div 8 (Division 8)

  • Over 35’s Masters (Snowmen)

  • Over 35’s Masters (Massive)

Coastal Spirit has members of all ages, abilities, and ethnicities, and every Saturday all players, coaches and supporters are invited back to the club for an after match drink and player of the day presentations.

The club holds a number of social events during the year also and encourages a fun and friendly environment across all of our teams.

Players will be provided with a playing shirt, but must provide their own shorts, socks and shin-pads.

Men’s Team Coaching Staff

Head Coach

Robbie Stanton

Robbie comes with a wealth of experience and knowledge that he has brought to multiple clubs around Christchurch. Robbie continues his successful tenure at the helm of the CSFC men’s prem team after guiding the team to a 3rd place finish in 2023, a 2nd place finish in 2024 as well as National League qualification and an English cup win, including the highest place South Island team in the National League (7th) and the coveted Southern League title in 2025. This first league title in the club’s history.

Paul Hughes, Anthony Jones, Dominic McGarr and Ellis Hare-Reid will all be part of the back-room staff in 2026.

Team Manager

Paul Hughes

Paul has been the Premier team manager for the last seven years. He has experience as a former Coastal 1st team player and was once a Chatham Cup winner with Dunedin Technical.

Assistant Coaches

Anthoney Jones - Dominic McGarr - Ellis Hare-Reid (GK)

The back-room staff assisting Robbie for the 2026 season are an experienced group with Anthoney (Macca) and Dominic assistant Rob in his coaching duties. Both come into the role with number of years experience playing for Coastal. Anthoney returns having been a part of the most successful coaching group in the club’s history, on the Men’s side. Ellis moves away from playing after medical issues cut short his career, he has stepped into the role of Goalkeeper coach having taken up the role last year.
