New World Championship Winners 2026

Congratulations to our Men’s Reserve team who won the New World Championship this season!

We’re incredibly proud of what our Men’s Reserves achieved this season, securing the title with an outstanding record of 15 wins, one draw, and two defeats from 18 league fixtures.

This success comes after a tough 2025 campaign, where a young group pushed hard but fell away in the final stages. Over the off‑season, we strengthened our coaching group with Omar Ali and Roman Boiten, who stands alongside Coastal legend Ben Leith and made key adjustments to our playing squad to build a more balanced and competitive team.

From day one, our goal was clear: to challenge at the top of the table. The team committed fully to that ambition, and the results reflect the work put in across the entire season.

We would like to make some honourable mentions to the players that really stood out this season.

In his first year of senior football, Harper Follows impressed with eight clean sheets, quickly establishing himself as a dependable starter. Across the backline, Oliver McCosh and George Croton brought experience and stability, both earning senior team call‑ups during the campaign. Finn Elstob also showed real promise in his first senior season, contributing strongly within a squad that blended developing players with experienced leaders.

In midfield, Anaru Hibbs, Zach Bryant, and Victor Ganescu provided control and consistency, helping us manage games and maintain our title push.

Up front, converted centre‑back AJ Wilson delivered a standout season after transitioning into a centre‑forward role. His 25 goals across all competitions were crucial to our championship run and highlighted his impact in the final third.

This title marks a remarkable turnaround for our Reserves, who finished bottom of the same competition in 2024 with just three points. The progress since then reflects the dedication of our players, coaches, volunteers, and wider Coastal Spirit whānau.

This is a huge moment for the club, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved. We look forward to building on this success in 2027.
