The newest club in Christchurch welcomes you. We have brought together the best from the New Brighton and Rangers football clubs to create Coastal Spirit FC.
A large group of dedicated people have been working constantly over the past six months for all this to become a reality. I have since come on board as the Development Officer for the Club. As one of only a few clubs in the South Island to have in place a full-time Development Officer, it is my pleasure to really drive this club forward by working with all the coaches and volunteers in order to improve, not only the standard of football, but the retention and enjoyment levels- and also to attract other players and coaches to the Club.
I graduated from the Christchurch College of Education in 2004 with the Bachelors of Sport Coaching degree, then chose to further my education in the United States. I attended Catawba College in North Carolina on a soccer scholarship. After two more years, I left with not only a Bachelors in Physical Education, but two years' playing experience in the college system. I have since been working with Mainland age groups teams and academy, as well as completing various coaching and coach educating courses.
I plan to use all my experience and knowledge to work with all our junior and senior coaches in order to up-skill and assist them so they can all achieve their individual goals. I will also be running coaching courses, both formal and in formal, to assist in this process. Once the season is under way, I will be running internal academy styled training sessions - with identified athletes training extra with one eye on future representative stars.
I love getting up each morning to head to a job in which I am so passionate about. I can't wait to get out there on the fields to work with my coaches and athletes and watching CSFC become the formidable club it is bound to be.
